Marlon Mullen has been described as a "painters painter" Mullen is completely fearless about paint and color. His subject regardless of the form is ultimately the colors and the brush strokes that become an integral part of the design/form. His paintings are both spacious and spare, with a palette that is broad over his body of work but within the confines of each painting. Watching Mullen work is a treat as he seems to enjoy what appears to be a dance as he mixes the colors and brushes the paint.
Mullens work has been shown at the Intuit Gallery in Chicago, and numerous galleries across the U.S., Europe and Canada. Mullen has been working at NIAD since 1986 when he joined at the age of 23.
