Donald Walker Donald Walker started working at NIAD Art Center in 2001 at the age 48. Despite severe health problems, Walker had always expressed an intense interest in drawing and painting, pursuing these interests at a day program before coming to NIAD. At NIAD his work progressed rapidly. He began to work obsessively, progressing from abstract shapes to figurative representation.
